Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center
Building a sense of community
For 100+ years, this hospital has been a mainstay in Chicago’s Wicker Park and Bucktown neighborhoods. But many newcomers to the area weren’t aware of the outstanding medical care available and weren’t utilizing their services. We set out to create a sense of community and connect new neighbors to the hospital so they would see it as their ‘go to’ for health care.
The new ban on plastic bags in Chicago, along with an eco-conscious audience, led to the idea to give away organic cotton bags that can now be seen all over the area. During the summer, we took to the streets with bicycle-driven ads at farmers markets and street fairs, and distributed branded water bottles. Mailers, local online ads and more helped the hospital get noticed and increase goodwill with neighbors.
